Greater Boston PFLAG Honors and Awards

2006 -- National PFLAG awarded Greater Boston PFLAG “’The Chapter of the Year Award’ for Outstanding Advocacy on behalf of GLBT people and their families.”

2003 -- GBBC (Greater Boston Business Council) “Individual Award for Excellence” was given to Greater Boston PFLAG’s Safe Schools and Communities Director, Pam Garraamone.

2002 -- GOAL (Gay Officers Action League) of New England honored Pam Garramone with their “Community Service Award” in recognition for her outstanding contributions and dedication to creating safe and healthy communities for GLBT youth.

2002 -- The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) awarded Pam Garramone their “Certificate of Appreciation” recognizing her “contributions in support of diversity at the FDIC.”

2000 -- Project 10 East, Inc presented the “2000 Breaking the Silence Award” to Greater Boston PFLAG for leading the way in making the world a safer place for GLBTQ youth.

1999 -- GBBC (Greater Boston Business Council) presented Greater Boston PFLAG with the “Community Organization Recognition Award” for the work of the Safe Schools Program.

1998 -- HRC (Human Rights Campaign) awarded Greater Boston PFLAG its “HRC Equality Award” in recognition of efforts to educate and advocate.

1998 -- “Boston Pride March Award” was given to Greater Boston PFLAG for having the float with the most lasting impression.

1998 -- GBBC (Greater Boston Business Council) presented Greater Boston PFLAG their “Community Organization Recognition Award” for providing support and fostering understanding abut the diversity of being human; for efforts to help change attitudes that create an environment of understanding so that gay family members and friends can live with dignity and respect; and community efforts of outreach programs, speaking at schools, religious organization and civic groups, thus helping change attitudes about homosexuality and bisexuality.

1989 -- The Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Civil Rights award was given to PFLAG for “Their outstanding role in securing passage of the Massachusetts Gay and Lesbian Civil Rights Law.”
