Greater Boston PFLAG Elsie Frank Scholarship

Greater Boston PFLAG proudly invites applicants for the “2008 Elsie Frank Scholarships.” Several scholarships will be awarded, totaling $10,000. Applicants must be high school students who will enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or technical/vocational school in the 2008-2009 academic year.

Awards are NOT based on grades, or financial situation. All students are welcome to apply: gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or straight.

People of color and trans youth encouraged to apply.

Greater Boston PFLAG’s Elsie Frank Scholarships honor the late mother of Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank. Mrs. Frank was a member of Greater Boston PFLAG’s Honorary Board and a lifelong advocate for the rights of marginalized people.

Click here to download instructions and here to get the application (both pdf files).

Applications must be postmarked no later than March 7, 2008.

Check the National PFLAG website for other scholarship opportunities.
