Elsie Frank Scholarship Program
Greater Boston PFLAG Scholarships
Each year Greater Boston PFLAG awards scholarship money to high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in improving their school’s climate for LGBT youth.
Applicants must be planning to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or technical/vocational school in the next academic year. Awards are not based on grades or financial situation. All students are welcome to apply: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or straight. People of color and trans youth are encouraged to apply.
Greater Boston PFLAG’s Elsie Frank Scholarships honor the late mother of Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank. Mrs. Frank was a member of Greater Boston PFLAG’s Honorary Board and a lifelong advocate for the rights of marginalized people.
Applications will be available the week of January 23, 2012. The deadline for completed applications is March 9. For questions please call 781-891-5966. See the list of Elsie Frank scholarship recipients from previous years.
National PFLAG Scholarships
Students may apply for both National PFLAG and Greater Boston PFLAG scholarships and are eligible to win more than one. Learn More
