Greater Boston PFLAG Announces Executive Director Resignation

April 5th, 2022, Boston, MA — It is with both sadness and gratitude that we are announcing the departure of Sunnie Kaufmann-Paulman. Sunnie will be resigning as the Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG (GBPFLAG).

Sunnie brought a great deal of expertise and grace to the organization and her accomplishments during her two years as Executive Director of Greater Boston PFLAG are remarkable. Starting just weeks before the global impact of COVID 19, she came into GBPFLAG during a time of crisis and change all around us. Despite the challenges, she brought the organization forward in many important ways, including:

  • Quickly pivoting to support the entire organization through the transition to fully-remote virtual work for the first time ever and ensuring smooth continuation of the organization’s vital and life-changing work

  • Diversifying GBPFLAG’s fundraising and introducing new fundraising campaigns

  • Strengthening and deepening organization-wide relationships, especially those with local community partners

  • Improved and expanded organizational communications, educational programming, and support group offerings under her leadership

Sunnie’s last day will be Friday, May 6th by which point we anticipate naming an interim Executive Director. We are confident that Sunnie and the staff will make this a smooth transition for our members and volunteers, partners, and supporters. Sunnie leaves Greater Boston PFLAG in a very strong position for continued growth, and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership in her time here. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors as she returns to her home state of Minnesota.

Over the next several months, the Board will be conducting a thorough search to find Greater Boston PFLAG’s next Executive Director. We will share the job announcement soon and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can help GBPFLAG take its next steps.

Join us at our 20th Annual Pride & Passion benefit on Wednesday, April 27 to learn more about Greater Boston PFLAG’s work and our exciting vision for our future as an organization.

If you have any questions about the transition or the organization, do not hesitate to reach out to the Board Chair Deb Zucker at debbra.zucker@gbpflag.org
