Announcing our new Interim Executive Director, Nina Selvaggio

June 13th, 2022, Boston, MA — Greater Boston PFLAG’s Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Nina Selvaggio (she/her) to serve as Interim Executive Director while the organization searches for a new permanent leader. We are deeply committed to conducting a thorough search to find Greater Boston’s PFLAG’s next Executive Director and in ensuring that this process aligns with our organizational values of diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as following best practices in gaining input and feedback from the diverse people and groups which make up this organization.

To that end, we are delighted to welcome Nina to the organization as our Interim Executive Director to ensure we are able to continue our life-changing work in this most critical time. Nina Selvaggio joins Greater Boston PFLAG with twenty-plus years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, including strategic leadership roles with local and national nonprofits. These have ranged from annual budgets between $100K and $20M, a handful to hundreds of employees and multiple sites. Her previous roles include serving as the Executive Director of SpeakOUT Boston, where she worked closely with GBPFLAG, BAGLY, and OUTMetrowest, and as Director of Policy/Programs for the Family Equality Council.

Nina’s core passion, expertise, abilities, and commitment to nonprofit work are grounded in the goal of integrating improved ways of operating so talent can focus their time and energy on bringing a mission to life. Nina consults for and has served on the boards of multiple nonprofits in the Greater Boston area. She has a BA from the University of Illinois-Urbana and is an alum of the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Program for Social Impact Strategy.

Over the coming months, the Board will be conducting a thorough search to find Greater Boston PFLAG’s next Executive Director. We are deeply excited about GBPFLAG’s future and continuing to expand our impact in achieving our mission to advocate for and advance equity and societal affirmation of LGBTQ+ people by building and strengthening loving families, safe communities, and a diverse and inclusive society. We will share the job announcement soon and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can help GBPFLAG continue growing and evolving.

If you have any questions about the transition or the organization, do not hesitate to reach out to Board Chair Deb Zucker at debbra.zucker@gbpflag.org.
